We work with over 300 roofing companies in Southern California for solar removal and replacement for re-roofing projects. Below are the steps involved in the re-roofing process:

1. Prior to the tear off, Vasco will cap the lines of the hot water solar lines to the panels and then remove the panels.
2. After the roof is removed and the plywood is installed, Vasco will install standoffs with flashings. The stands are 6" long and are made of 1" steel pipe welded to the 1" x 3" quarter inch steel plate. This standoff is lag screwed through the plywood into the roof joist. We then leave the roofer one flashing per standoff and when the roof is done the stands are forever watertight.*
3. Upon the completion of the new roof, Vasco will replace the solar panels and make sure the system is back up and running.
